The du Plessis family purchased the business and kept the name Purdy Carpet Cleaners, as there were clients who have been with the brand since the eighties. Michael du Plessis has headed up operations for more than sixteen years with the help of Joseph Moima who started with the company in the eighties. They are a tight team who efficiently attend to every customer’s carpet, curtain and upholstery cleaning needs.
The present,
The business is currently based in Midrand with operations reaching Sandton, Johannesburg, particularly the Northern suburbs, as well as Centurion and parts of Pretoria. The team consists of Michael du Plessis, Joseph Moima and Tebatso Makgai, who are on site at all times. For bigger jobs they run a team of four with additional machines. Purdy Carpet Cleaners clean both home and office as well as retail outlets.

Michael du Plessis is the owner / manager of Purdy Carpet Cleaners. Michael started working for the family business, Purdy Carpet Cleaners, in 2002. Michael took over as owner and manager of the business in 2004.

Joseph Moima
Manager/ Machine Operator
Joseph is Michael’s right hand man. He has 38 years’ experience in carpet cleaning having started with the original company in 1982.
Joseph has expertise in cleaning all types of carpets, upholstery and curtains.
All team members were trained by Joseph setting high standard in service output. A meticulous and dedicated worker.
Tebatso Makgai
Machine Operator
Tebatso joined Purdy Carpet Cleaners in 2019. He brings a fresh, young energy to the team. With his dedication and hardworking abilities, he has learnt the ropes well and is a valuable member whom we and our clients can always rely on.
